Free premium access to Care.com makes it easy to find caregivers for your home, pets, and family. Search a database of caregivers for a variety of family care needs including care for an older adult, child, or pet, as well as house cleaning and tutoring services.

You can manage every step of the care hiring process through Care.com:

Registration

To get started with Care.com, follow these instructions:

Go to proofpoint.care.com
Register
If you do not have a Care.com account, select ‘Register.’
If you have an existing Care.com account, select ‘Log in.’ Care.com will merge your accounts in 10 business days.
Enter your Proofpoint email address, name, address, and date of birth. Care.com will ask for your date of birth at registration to verify your identity for the safety of their caregivers.
You will be prompted to create an account and enter a password of your choice.
Follow the prompts to search for caregiver services.

When to Use Backup Care

When to Use Backup Care for Children

School or daycare is closed
Your babysitter or nanny is sick or on vacation
You are working from home and need someone to watch the children
You have to work late, work on a weekend, or have business travel and need someone to care for your children

When to Use Backup Care for Adults

Care for an older family member when regular care isn’t available
You need companion care for an older family member
You need companion care for your adult child
Your older family member needs a ride to doctors’ appointments
You need specialized support for a family member with Alzheimer’s or dementia
You have to work late, work on a weekend, or have business travel and need someone to care for your adult family member

When to Use Backup Care for Pets

You are working from home and need care for your sick pets
Your regular pet caregiver is sick or on vacation and you need support (i.e., walking, boarding, day care or drop-in care)
You have to work late, work on a weekend, or have business travel and need someone to care for your pet

When to Use Backup Care for Yourself

You or your spouse / partner / cohabitant is recovering from surgery, and you need extra support

Get Started with Backup Care

Check your calendar for spring and summer breaks, care gaps, holidays, and caregiver vacations.
Go to proofpoint.care.com.
Follow the prompts to complete your request for in-home or in-center Backup Care.
The Care.com team will work quickly to identify a caregiver or center that meets your specific needs. Once found, a dedicated Care Specialist will contact you directly to answer any questions you might have and confirm the booking.
On the day of care, bring your loved ones to your chosen center or your in-home caregiver will come to you.
You will be charged your copay after care has been provided and will receive a survey to help Care.com understand your experience.

In-Home Child Backup Care

Request a trusted Backup Care provider to come to your home to care for newborn to teenage children for work-related care needs – up to 90 days in advance. After you request care, a Care Specialist will identify a caregiver that best fits your needs.

In-Center Child Backup Care

Choose from the Care.com trusted network of centers near your home or workplace when requesting in-center Backup Care. In-center Backup Care can be booked up to 30 days in advance.

In-Home Adult Backup Care

This service does not include in-center Backup Care.

Personal Network Backup Care*

Schedule care on your own with your preferred center or caregiver. You can submit a claim to get reimbursed. Your Backup Care must be work-related and cannot include your family’s regular care expenses.

Pet Backup Care*

With pet backup care reimbursement, you can use your own pet sitter (outside of our network) and get reimbursed up to a set daily limit after care has occurred.

Pet Backup Care Exchange: You can use your Backup Care days to find, book, and pay for a variety of pet care services, including dog walking, pet sitting, doggy day care, and boarding/overnight care. This service is provide through Care.com’s partnerships with leading pet care providers. With this option, you receive a $150 credit that can be used to book

*Reimbursement for Personal Network Backup Care and Pet Backup Care must be requested within 30 days of receiving care by submitting your receipt.
